Default 1st Annual Powertool Pumpkin Carving Party - pic heavy

Am I crazy?? Well, let's see. I've been bungee jumping and loved it. I'm the proud and quite happy owner of a motorcycle. I've been a mod on Ifish. And now, I've invited a bunch of friends over to hack away at Fall's bounty with powertools inside my garage. Yeah, I'm crazy.

Here's the workspace:

Let the carving begin:

This mad man is responsible for spraying the ceiling with pumpkin:

I purchased a special tool for goring out the inside of a pumpkin using my drill. It cleans one out in about ten seconds.

Check out the blade in the angle grinder. I need one of those. That, the angle grinder with the wire brush in it and the rotozip were my favorite tools of the evening.

Lotsa folks having a great time. Look closely and you can see the pumpkin stuck to the ceiling.

A jig saw makes quick work of opening up a pumpkin.

The sawzall works as well:

One guy brought his potato gun and loaded it with pumpkin guts. We recreated the famous exploding whale video.

We had a lot of creative entries:

Videos:
Dig the spray from the angle grinder with wire brush
It can get a little loud depending on what tools are firing off at the moment. Surprisingly, we never popped a breaker.
The router works great for removing the skin without getting into the flesh
The party in full swing
The moment you've all been waiting for: the air cannon full of pumpkin guts.

I think a belt sander would have been fun! And how about a cylinder resurfacing tool for the innards? Creative fun, Doug!

To answer your basic question --- Yes, you are crazy.

But we pretty much knew that all along.

I was totally up for the gas chainsaw, outside of course, but no one brought one. As for the firearms, I wanted to follow up with the Great Pumpkin Shootout on Sunday but wisdom told me that I'd have neither the energy nor the inclination to be around firearms today and that I'd better reserve my resources for cleaning up from the mayhem.

Most of the tools came out relatively unscathed. My jig saw is pretty loaded with goo but once it dries I should be able to wipe most of it away. I figure WD40 will take care of the rest. I was able to sweep up most of the smaller stuff off the floor today since the concrete sucks the moisture out of it. Some of the larger spots will have to wait a few days for cleanup. I'm not sure whether I'm going to clean off the ceiling yet or not.

Looks like you had a "blast"

But as being a person that works at a Sawchain manufacturer I would definitely of had a Chainsaw
