Default Littering fools

Upland hunting last week we visited several ODFW sponsored 'Hunting with Written Permisssion' areas. At one area we were looking over, we pulled in to the parking spot near the hunting field and observed a recently discarded empties of a quart carton of chocolate milk, a can of clamato, Busch lite, and Coke as well as some various sandwich wrappers.

Needless to say, we picked up these other persons discards not only as they are unsitely, but to help preserve this private property owners thoughts towards the people they are allowing the use of their lands.

At another "Welcome to Hunt' spot, someone dumped their entire ashtray out.

It's hard enough to find good hunting land these days open to the public. Why do these inconsiderates try to sabotage this? Do they think that because some of our license dollars go to these landowners that the landowners should clean up after us as well?

Pack out more than you bring in.

Sorry, just had to vent.

yes it is out of control. visit 100 camps after any big game season and you will find a large percentage left in poor condition. cans bottles trash in the fire pits still burning, broken chairs and crap piles and toilet paper all over. and then there are the mushroom pickers. what pigs

Since bow season started I have been picking up cans, bottles and assorted trash that has been left behind. When the second elk rifle season is over I am going to put everything in a pile and take a picture. I have started my second 30 gal trash bag. I wonder if people think about all of the land that gets locked up because of this. Seems to me there used to be a lot more land that was open to all of us. Just my opinion.

This is the one thing that really causes me to become unstable! Littering is worse than just about anything in my book! Just be caught doing it in front of me. Things will happen!

I can relate. For years my group camped in the exact same location in the Silver Lake unit and every year when we were finished we would clean that spot up till it looked just as it did when we first found it.

I'm seeing quite a few beer cans and worst, piles of human crap/toilet paper in the middle of every skid road I walk down lately. Doesn't anyone own a shovel?

Same here. Cant stand littering in camps or in the woods when hunting. When i was up for deer this year worst one i had seen was a couple guys walking down a closed road as i am coming out of it and both had smokes in there hands and while still burning they chucked them into the brush.... I had to stop and ask them did they not hear about the freaking huge fire going on about 30 miles from were we were and that its like 60 degrees has not rained in 2 weeks yet alone enough to even make the fire hazard go down. Both shrugged and kept walking....SOME PEOPLE.. then i had to walk into the brush and put them out for them cause they just kept walking... Also when you come into a camp to settle and make home you find beer cans toilet paper and other things. I use bio friendly toilet paper so next season or in a week its not there no more.

A person could make some good money picking up all the beer cans in the Wenaha unit. That was about the only littering, but it was everywhere.
