Florence Area Elk?

Thinking of getting a tag for over here, anyone have success in the last few years? Also which unit is better, Alsea or Siuslaw? Have only lived over here for a few years, but have hunted elk in the past, so any help/info is greatly appreciated. thanks!

I dont know where they hunted over there but a buddy has been over there the last couple archery seasons and had many chances at em....did say they seen lots of elk and many of them were bulls but that the country they hunted was some pretty thick and steep stuff. They almost hit elk in the dark going in this year to where they camped so there must be a few critters over that way, sorry dont have any exact locs to hunt.

Russ, both units hold elk, alsea may have more. One consideration is that second season Siuslaw unit this year is spike only.
