Newport/Depoe Bay conditions?

Anyone from Depoe Bay or Newport that can give a report on actual ocean conditions today (Monday)? I want to salmon fish in the A.M. but the prediction sounds not so good. You could save me a trip maybe! Thanks in advance, WP

Depoe Bay currently has 1-3' swell in the hole, 2-4' on the middle grounds, and 4-6' north reef and flat rock. Fogged in currently with visibility about upto 100' or so.

Depoe Bay is currently restricted to 16' and under. (not that I'd ever consider going out in a 16' boat on the ocean anyway.

Just talked to a guy who was out this morning --

Good ocean, heavy fog. No wind to speak of. He said it was blowing 10 knots at South Beach currently (11 a.m.).

Thanks SJ and SS. I guess it is good enough to at least give it a try in the A.M. Hope to see you both again soon. Salmon is alright with me but tuna is something else!

I may be out puttering around near-shore tomorrow morning once I get a new coil installed to test things out. Won't be making any long-range trips though...but may wet a line for some salmon or ling-cod.
