Default aug. buts

:whazzup: need some help... we usually go out of depoe or newport for buts,(the ranch or rock pile. trailer situation is restricting me to the columbia...are there buts up north or should I still go for the usuals?
any suggestions? g.p.s.#'s... I checked the archives but didnt see much.
moma say's she needs her buts.

There is a spot about 25 miles out of Garabaldi but that would be a long trip from CR.
Unless you are willing to run down and get a slip...
The Astoria area seems to be a closely guarded secret and it isn't talked about much. The charters in the area seem to do well but I have no idea where they go other than across the bar and back again... [img]graemlins/dork.gif[/img]
I hope someone else chines in with a better answer...
From my limited experience with the Garabaldi spot I can tell you that the spot is a lot smaller than Newport and you have to watch out for everyone. Lots of tangles and tempers so try to relax and enjoy life if you head out that way...

I guess I am going to answer your question with another question. Halibut will be open at the south end (Port Orford) correct? Are there halibut in that neck of the woods that time of the year?

good question? I hope theres buts but not sure. and your right it does seem to be a close secret.I guess I could follow the charters...but...rather have some better info. ? anybody???
