Default Coosbay Tuna

Went out this morning and finally found the Tuna between 32 & 35 miles NW and found 65 degree water and aqua blue as you can get. What a great weekend other this afternoon's ride back. My knees need a week off!

Saturday we went out 28 miles with out a hit. We did find a huge bait ball and casted iron into it and picked up a really nice chinook about 10 miles out. Came back in and limited out on salmon and picked up about 25 bass. Not to bad for empty tuna trip.

TC,

We ended up with 6. Not long after we found them we decided it was enough since the wind started to pick up. left at 5:00 back at the dock by 1pm. We went out as far as 36 miles. Seen a few other boats that hooked up with us for a while, but they headed further west.

I have the gps numbers if you want them for doing any comparisons.

Also thanks again for the phone numbers for ice. We ended up in Coos Bay at artic ice and shoveled all we wanted for $5 as you said!

Sounds good, if we decide to make a trip I might want the numbers and plug them into my chartplotter. Glad to see you got into a few though. The weather was a weird thing this weekend to say the least with heavy fog rolling in at 11 am. I went by three boats that came zooming up to me on saturday and asked how to get back. Amazes me to this day that people don't carry some sort of gps.

We snuck out on saturday for a couple of hours after salmon and ended up hooking 12. Three keepers and one small chinoook released on the day. Had a hard time keeping them on a hook.

Lep, I'd love to make a trip. However my weekends are booking quickly coming close to bow season. Might be worth a mid week shot if it looks really good. I'll let you know.

TC and Lepper, I'll be glad to join you guys at Depoe. Been there before and always got tuna. Wife wants to go tuna chasing for the first time . I usually stay overnight at the parking lot, sleeping in the boat dreaming of the tuna .Give me a shout.

I'll give you a shout Netscape if we do make the jump. I need one good day out there to fill the canner, then that itch of not getting enough for the year can go away.

Yep! I've got about 7 more to stop the itch. That will make 11 and that is enough to fill the need. Two more boats will join us from here if the times are ok with them.
