Default Surf perch fishing?

Was wondering if anybody fishes for them on the beach in Pacific City where the dories are launched. We are heading down Saturday to watch the dories and just wanted to try fishing there. Thanks

There's a good depression about .2 of a mile north of the mouth of the nestucca. You can drive out there from the turn around motel beach access. Best luck on the tail end of an incoming tide. Good Luck and let me know how it went. Ae you going down for Dory Days and the parade. It should be fun.......

Doryfisher, can we launch a boat there in Pacific City and cross into the ocean? Is there a jetty or bar to cross and how does it rate compared to say Nehalem or DB? I have fished the tide waters for fall chinook but never gone downstream to check out the bar or ocean entry.

Is it better than the CR bar or about the same? No clue and would like to know. I love the Nestucca and all the fish that enter it and if they are hanging around the mouth in the ocean can we get to them in a regular boat ( other than dory )?

*Fish only bite wet hooks*

I would not recommend crossing on to the ocean fromthe Nestucca river. I have done it only once on a completely calm day on the flood. However, I have been fishing the ocean side of the mouth in my Dory in the fall and seen folks come across in all types of craft from bath tub sized boats to sleds....... Crazy if you ask me....... Launching into the ocean from cape kiwanda is pretty much reserved for dory with high bows to tacckle the surf, but again on good days I have seen many different types of vessels....
