Default Alzheimer's and Hospice

My Mother passed tonight. She has been battling Alzheimer's for a couple years. It is a terrible and cruel disease.
She would have been 90 in a couple weeks, so had a long and until recently, good life.
The last six weeks, Hospice has been here to help. They are wonderful people who bring love along with their equipment and expertise.

Thank you so much!!! You made the end more comfortable for all of us.

Thanks

The last few days, she has struggled so hard to breathe, that it's been hard to witness. She is now resting.

Hospice here in Albany was wonderful for the last few month of my hubby grammas passing. They were there till the end and very helpful and heart warming.
Sorry to hear of your mothers passing, but Alzheimers is nasty and she is in a way better place from the sounds of it.

be with you

Hospice is simply amazing. My grandmom died a few years back from Alzheimers, and the hospice folks were there for her too. Best wishes to your family, we spent time remembering the good times, and being grateful for all the long years we had shared together.

Sorry to hear that Papermaker. You are in our prayers.

I took care of my Mother when she had cancer for 9 long months back in 2005. Hospice sent a wonderful group of people out daily to take care of Mom. Indeed they are a very excellent organization.

Thank you for this beautiful post. God bless you, hospice care, and all of your mom's beloved for the love and special care that was provided to her.

Again thanks.
I guess maybe I've been a little cranky with all that's been going on lately.
I promise to be my old self soon.

I appreciate my ifish family.

And to repeat:
Hospice is wonderful!!
