The ocean was absolutely beautiful today! I crossed the bar a little past 5 am and headed for 56 degree water temp. I had already planned on a half day fishing because of the weather so I left the Tuna stuff at the house, dumb idea I ran west at 38 mph until I hit about 200 feet of water and started trolling. Within the first 15 minutes my rod went off. Nice nook in the box at 12 pulls. Fish were everywhere but most came at 8 to 10 pulls. We lost a nice nook at the boat and had another one on. I was tagged out with a nice 9 pound coho and a monster 34 pound nook hen that was weighed at the marina.
I ran 40 mph back to the whistle and crossed a nonexistant bar, on the road by 10:00 or so. Great day on the water, my only regret was not planning on being out all day and heading west for the long fins. Also got the pleasure of bringing home a 4 foot blue shark. Those things smell real bad
