Got my first bear today!
Just got in, was a pretty long day.
I'll get story/pics up when I get cleaned up a bit. Pretty impressive animal though, I got a lot of looks on my way through town. Not too sure about the weight yet, I probably over estimated it.
But a first bear is a first bear, I'm pretty pumped.
Back in a few.

Re: Got my first bear today!
Here he is in the back of my truck!
OK, I'm starting to feel a little guilty now for pullin' one over on you guys, but I just couldn't resist.
Truth of the matter is, our business was bought by the dist. in Pendleton, massive cleaning up in our warehouse. I won three fistfights to take this guy home and add him to the bachelor pad decor.
First though, I had to clean it. Ever seen a bear cleaned like this?
He's actually an amicable little fella'. After all those years collecting dust, watching us from the skyracks, he's pretty happy to be doing something for a change. Sheesh, he even knows his bachelor fare!
I DID have the "talk" with him about his taste in beer though. He took it pretty well and promised to be a little more adventurous....

Wow! That's one fine Ursus Beerus Hammilus!
What was the hanging weight?
Better hang him for a long while. Looks to be pretty tough.
Looks like a male. What did you do with the baculum?

Re: Got my first bear today!
Nice Post! You had me fooled for sure.
I am a bit jelous of the bear. Unwillingly I was forced to drink Hamms as a teenager going through high school. I would get my older brother to buy me beer. I would give him a list of 2 40oz this a 22oz of that a short case of this and everytime he would walk out with a case of Hamms and a 6 pack of tall boys. All he would say is "Here get drunk off this". The tall boy 6 pack was a mandatory tax I had to pay.
Now that we are both in our early 30's we still drink the stuff. Sad I know but bad habbits are hard to break.
Nice BEAR!

WOW. Who is the taxidermist? That was a fast full size body mount effort.
It was so fast I bet the hide is still warm.
There is something very familiar about the eyes even though they seem larger than "your average bear.
Anyway...
Real Nice Beer.. I mean Bear.
