Default Sea Anchor and trolling socks

I read some posts the other day on reality checks and just came back from vacation with my new to me boat. I bought it just before vacation and didn't want to take time or expense to install trolling motor. I decided to slow my boat down with a trolling plate. Well I did what I was not going to do. I added power by mistake with trolling plate down and instead of bending plate it broke the cavitation plate from my out drive. So trolling at East Lake was out. til I went to GI Joes in Bend and bought a trolling sock. It did what it was supposed to do. After reading some posts in reality check I am interested in developing my own design of trolling socks and maybe sea anchors and drogues. I am a truck tarp manufacturer in Albany area and have all the equipment to build them. I paid $30.00 for mine. I have seen them on e-bay for much less but none of them are constructed very well. and use cheap materials. If anyone would like to help me by testing some I would appreciate any R+D help or ideas if you have used them before.

Thanks for your response, I first need some imput from someone like you that has used them on what you would like to see and what size would work I have seen some that pull inside out to retrieve seems like a good idea to me and should be simple to accompolish. I plan to use a cordura nylon material that is called rip stop. it is lightweight and folds up small. I may use a galvanized ring on the small hole on the center and where the straps come together at the forward end so I can attach the center pull strap. I would like imput from you folks that have used them as what is needed. They are relatively simple but I'm sure improvements can be made.
