That pic is of a San Diego long range boat coming back from a 8 or maybe 10 day trip. Those fish are frozen solid. THey pull em all up on deck on the way in so they can start unloading the minute they hit the dock.
The way I can tell it isn't an 18 day trip is there are no cows (fish over 200). And they don't mess with albacore on the real long trips.
Most of those fish get traded for cans, something like 1 can for 7 pounds of fish. But what are your alternatives when you have 1000+ pounds of fish frozen solid when you hit the dock? I have one friend who told us to meet him in San Diego with pickups full of ice. Drove them back to San Jose and started carking.
