Guys I am telling you I saw a monster in the back of a dudes Grey Dodge Ram on Sunday near Mehama. He was on his way back towards the valley. Don't know where he got it, ecactly. All I could do was smile and watch it go by. Nice looking 5 or 6 point and a serious spread! Another fella took a 7 point up there during archery. Would love to hear some reports too. I love hunting more than anything!!

That must have been that 1 shot I heard all weekend .

I did'nt scout like I should have with gas being so high, so I got what I put into it, a couple days playing in the woods wandering where those damn elk are. Didnt see many deer either.

Warm weather dont help, 51 degrees saturday morning. They sure dont like to move when warm unless their chasing tail. Things got better today though, cold rain should help out those still at it.

A co worker of mine pulled up to landing Saturday morning. Shut off the truck and sat on a stump. After about 10 seconds of glassing he heard a stick break. He turns around and sees a 6 point bull come down the bank and walks toward his truck. Shoots and drops it on the spot. After an hour of skinning and 1/4 ing he is driving back to town in time for breakfast. I guess I am doing it wrong!!!!!

My brother in law killed a 5x6, but I don't know anymore than that. This is info through my wife. As you can see we aren't that close. I am sure it was up above Fall Creek Res. That is where he usually hunts.

Been in the silver falls area and it seems to be a biological desert. We have about 15 people pushing brush and not alot of sign. Hopefully yesterday's weather change got them moving? I'll be back on the lookout tomorrow.

Thumbs up Re: where are all the cascade elks hunter posts?

Since the hunt dosen't end till friday, more post's should be coming later, when all the non day trippers get back,

Our camp has one hanging, sat morning kill.

Lot's of people driving around scouting the area, that's what they keep telling me anyway's ,, sure a lot of I haven't hunted up here in many years, so were just driving around trying to find some spots,,, now this was during the first two days of the hunt, sat-sun.

Does any body understand the term scouting ?
Last time I checked it doesn't usally happen during the actual hunt. That's why there is ten other months in the year........ also if you haven't seen any animals during your hunt,, it might be time to get out of the truck....................................

Was up in the Metolius unit sat and sun and saw lots of cows but no bulls. Saw a couple trucks pulling out some 5x's. Sat morning driving up to the mountains there was a line of probably 15 rigs in front of me, never have i seen so many people going up there, but its a general tag so its to be expected.
