Lost our buddy today
We had the unpleasant task today of taking in Daisey our 15 year old SchiTzu for her final trip to the vet. She passed peacefully into the Rainbow Bridge country. We will miss her.
Those of you who visited us when we had our place in Alaska surely will remember her. She greeted every guest to the lodge including the occasional moose. She and the resident Bald Eagles had an understanding. They left her alone and they got fed fresh fish and lots of it.
One of her vices was eating Bighorn sheep dung along the ALCAN during her many trips up and own. And you dared not try to take it away from her or you would get a snarl and a nip. She hated those 4 day trips in the back seat and usually grumbled the first day or so.
Sleep well little one. You deserve the rest!

Re: Lost our buddy today
Capt., sorry you had to put your buddy down. Sure is tough stuff.
Pop's had to put his pal down just over a month ago now after 14 years. Sure was tough stuff. He's got a 10month old retriever that is just full of energy. I think he waited two weeks and just could not stand to be without a dog.

Re: Lost our buddy today
Sure sorry for your losing her. I know all too well the pain of losing those 4-legged bundles of un-bridled energy and affection. I lost 2 this year and it hurts.

If you can spend as many days afield and in the company of your buddy,
then she had a good life.
Sorry for your loss, but what a great life she had!
she's romping and happy and in a better place now.
just is waiting for you ....

Oh man, Capt, that's tough. Even though she had a good life it's still soooo hard to say goodbye. Just cherish the memories you have. She's not far away.

I'm sure in doggie heaven she will have all the sheep dung she can handle and nobody will try to take it.
Sounded like a great partner in crime....sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry for your loss. What would we do without our "Buddies".
I hope that all the good memories of your dog will quickly replace the sorrow and sadness.
Take care
