Default Tuna Boat Jewelery

Ha- Finally found what I been looking for at flatline. Need to spread my rigs but really didn't want to pay (1500 plus for a big set) or deal with mounting outriggers (they need backed and tearing apart the boat to get to the inside of the shell is ugly for me).

Charkbait has them (new item) too but doesn't list the 2 foot extensions which I wanted.
Called this guy and he matched Charkbaits price for the set ($179 vs his list of $199). The extensions are 49.00. The releases are just std Penn Offshore downrigger releases ( I think I'll use the scottie clips).
I'll let ya know how they work in a few weeks. I'll need to drop in 2 new dedicated vertical rod holders I think (ya, ya- more holes in the boat).

Mel-
For just six feet why not just use a clamp on perko style rod holder at 90 degrees?

IF you only fish on days that end in "Y" that means you never go fishing "tomorrow". Right?

Keep those posts coming as we are learning from every one of them. Learning that maybe tomorrow will be the day to give it a try.

threemuch- clamp on what? No rails.

My recessed holders are not at 90 either cause the cockpit is lined. The 30 degree tilt holders won't fit between the shells unless it's turned toward the stern on the side mounts. Same thing for the 2 on the transom, they are turned toward the outside. End result is that the two rods on the corners (both corners) are alomost touching at the tip.
I've been using my downriggers just for the fact that the rod holders are perp. to the boat, but with the up angle you still are only about 3-4 feet off the gunnel. This should give a true 6 feet off each side.
If they don't work I can hang birds on em and use them for stabilizers!
