Tuna 3 MILES!!! and Counting
Yes people, this is true. I was looking at the SST's today and darn near fell out of my chair at work. It shows 61 degree water right off the jetties at Charleston. This weekend one was caught at 6 miles and just today reported from my dad on the docks someone picked one at 3 miles out on their way in  . I'm headed out after work tomorrow for an afternoon tuna bite. Pops is headed out in the morning so I'll have a live update then.
Gotta love it when you can get off work and still make it out to slay a tuna or two later in the day. Gonna make it hard to concentrate on work that's for sure.

Re: Tuna 3 MILES!!! and Counting
For the last couple days, the SSTs have been a little short on data. Certainly have been some interesting reports, though, and temperature readings off the CR Buoy have been in the 60s. Has anyone systematically compared morning SSTs to afternoon SSTs?
Here's yesterdays image ... not much help in this.

Re: Tuna 3 MILES!!! and Counting
This was monday's shot for the south coast region. The free pics don't always do a good job. If there are any clouds at all it won't get a good readying and thus the blank areas.
The report this morning from dad, he was at 10 miles and was in 62 degree water, but hadn't found a fish yet. The water was a little lumpy, so we'll see if the afternoon roughs up a bit before I venture out. Anyhow more reports to come.

Re: Tuna 3 MILES!!! and Counting
Pete- seems to be about 2 degrees tween morning and afternoon, nothing "systematic" just been pulling them up and looking.
