Default Looking at apple presses

I'm thinking about getting an apple press. I have a very productive tree and have put away as much applesauce and cut apples as we can handle, leaving one more way to make use of the fruit...cider!

Any recommendations on make, type, size? Does anyone have one they want to sell?
Thanks...JB

We rent our's every year. They aren't cheap to buy and renting at $12 a day goes a long ways compared to purchase price.

Almost all the hometown rental places have them.

Bloom,
I have long and happy memories of helping my grandfather run a cider press at his house. Nothing beats homemade apple cider. He let me try a tiny sip of some of his homemade Apple Jack as well when I was way under age. Curled my nose hairs and chased me away from alcohol for a long time. I wish I could sit down and share some with him now.

When I started to get into trouble as a young teenager he let me try some of his homemade Grappa during a long "come to Jesus or meet him" conversation in the basement. Thought he'd poisoned me.

Thanks for reminding me of those times. I'll see if I can dig up the Apple Jack receipe and I'll PM it to you.

TF
