Default Back From the Prarie Pot Holes

The duck factory was pretty dry this spring, but wet while we were there last week. We got our birds, but I'm glad we don't live on the Central Flyway, as it is the fewest ducks we have seen up there since the late 80's.
But the fall colors were unbelievable this year, and there is nothing you can do with a camera to capture the 360 degree views. This is the Sheyenne River area, near it's headwaters before it flows through Fargo to join the Red.

I was in Saskatchewan in September and the ducks and geese were thick. I don't know what flyway the eastern part of Sask. is in.

Yeah, I think the further north you go, the better the breeding conditions were. I agree the better hunting is in Canada, but we have alot of years invested in learning and scouting our area of Nodak, and have alot of local friends we hunt with. For someone spending that much time and $ to hunt, your better off in any of the Canadian provinces. In really good years, the pot holes in the Dakotas are more productive than this year.

I guess I would be remiss if I didnt include at least one meat picture. My 82 yo Dad, bro in law... 3 limits of greeenies, one sprig and one bonus goose.
