Default Lost Our Tuna Cherry

Well it was wasn't all I had expected but still fun.

Give me a 40lb chinook in the salt over an albacore any day.

I want to catch one on the slide and see what that's like but the trolling is just so so in my book.

Then you have to clean the Pacific Pigs. They have a distinct smell that after two showers I still can't get rid of.

My crew and partner don't feel the same however. They thought it was the greatest thing since 'Fart in a Can' became available at the joke store.

Here are some pic's of the carnage. A total of 9 fish. They were nice fish though. Two netted me 48 half pints.

I don't know about it being the greatest thing since "fart in a can" (they make that?) but it was definately fun. I enjoyed it Greg. Easier than hali fishing the Ranch for sure. Maybe its the monster takedown and screaming reel. Maybe it's partly due to the fact that not every gomer with a boat can go out and chase them. Besides it something different to do. After a few months chasing nooks the change of pace is nice.

Thanks for the opporTUNAity to experience it.

It just dawned on me that the things I've become most addicted to I never really found that interesting in the beginning.

I could be in serious trouble here!

You're doomed, Greg, you just don't know it yet.

I think it is the most fun you can have with your clothes on.

After the dreams of screaming reels start, you too will be "hooked". How many 160# leaders have you snapped off nook fishing?

Superstition has me a little timid here Kurt. I'd hate to say too much and spoil the good luck; but I must be havin' one hell of a lifetime.

Greg-
You need to try it on a day when the ocean isn't making it such a challenge to stand.

And keep in mind, a 40 pound chinook is a pretty rare fish (some might say the fish of a lifetime), 9 25 pound albies and rough weather is an average trip at best.

I agree about the stink and oil on the hands. It doesn't come off and stinks bad.

Congrats on your first blood!
