And It's all Pilar's fault
My wife say"s you must be touched, getting up at 1:30 a.m. to drive to Brookings to launch at 4:30 and go out 40 miles in the deep blue, work so hard at landing tuna that your back and arms ache, clean fish till dark, drive home and start canning at daylight while it is still cool, all for the fun of catching tuna? I say it's not my fault. There is this fellow name Pilar who all winter and spring has been causing tuna fever to all who read his excellent posts and ideas and hints on catching tuna. So now I have tuna fever and only by going one last time can you cure the fever. It did not work, have to try one last time. Three in boat landed 16 large hogs, last hook up was for three rods, landed all three so thought we would quit on that good omen. As Brookings is not your normal tuna port it was nice to get out of.

Re: And It's all Pilar's fault
Ya got that right, Bigfoot. Pilar is also responsible for the recent spike in marine grade aluminum prices. D'OH! (Not to mention Hexheads, Zuker's, Clones, Fishtraps, Tuna cord and Mustad tandem hooks!)

Re: And It's all Pilar's fault
Yep I have to second that. We need to come up with another name for him like they did for "Typhoid Mary".
Lets see.
"Pilar Fever"
"Tuna John's Fever"
"John's Fishing Fever"
"Bill Fish John Fever"
OK I $uck at this so I will leave it to the innovative ones.
I will say that I still have the fever and haven't had a dose of the cure yet. Seems like the harder we work on that boat the further it seems from being done.
John thanks for the fever man.

Big Foot: Have your wife call me. I'll let her know all about how it is Pilar's fault!
(should I keep the part about being happy about it to myself?)

Alba-anguish: the condition brought about by reading all the reports of catching tuna with out being able to do so. It can even cause otherwise normal responsible people to begin chanting things like "Weld Ed, Weld."

Re: And It's all Pilar's fault
It should be Pilaritis . The suffix - itis means inflamation (Origin: L. Inflammatio, inflammare = to set on fire). Therefore Pilaritis is the burning desire to catch tuna!
