I owned a Robalo back in the early eighties that was one fine boat. The company has changed hands a few times since then but from what I understand it's still a good machine. Do a search on this boating board, lots of good posters there that own them too. Link

I have fished aboard a 19' fish slayin' machine in Robalo Bill's boat.
They cut through the water so nicely, are quite fast, have the ultimate in fish storage, and great fuel capacity.

I've owned an 1820 for 10 years. I looked at alot of boats before I bought this one. Alot came in cheap, but as soon as you add the necessities, they end up more expensive and for a poorer quality boat. My little 1820 is a rocket it weighs 900lb more than my friends Arima..but has the following standard features, power steering (a must on large outboards) 3 fish boxes huge, washdown pump, 30gallon livewell, scuppered deck, positive flotation. Deck lights, huge gas tank all boxes including the drinkholders bail overboard. You may feel that alot of these things are luxury items, when in fact they are necessities on a "fishing". I can pack 300# of tuna on ice and have several limits of crab in the live well...also to clean off the tuna blood you just hose down the cockpit. Rod holders...20 in all. For comparison look at one of the aluminum boats...were do you stow the rods, gaff, net bait weights, ice...let alone 20 tuna. I hope this helps....Bill
