Guess Janice is on the road again. Using Pilar's #'s from Tues. we and one other boat from Reedsport went to that general area. The other boat(Hawkeye#5009) ended up with 14, with one monster 30 pounder  . This was his first tuna trip, lucky bum.Our boat just brought in 6
Us old timers quit at about 11:30 +- . Going out t'mmr from WB to find them. Heard they were taking them about 28 miles out in 59 water.

Hey Skip, were you up at Depoe on Wed.? One fellow was asking for #'s on 78... not sure if that was you. Sorry I didn't get to see Janice!

We had an absolutely super trip. Imagine a guppy fighting a tuna! Beating chest with pectorals! The new rod and the reel (thank you John and Jennie) did their proper duty, reeling in two fish. Netscape was real nice, even when I lost his bucket overboard not hanging on tight enough  . Since Mrs. Netscape was waiting at home with butcher knife and pressure cooker at the ready, we could have caught a few more fish, but we're not complaining because if we did...skunko for days and days .

Now am learning about processing. Working on flash freezing in brine in Ziplocks. Still need to get a little more organized on the ice end of things, but we did OK thanks to all you guys and what we have learned from you.

QUITE sure the worst day fishing is better than the best day lobbying.

Thanks a lot.

Mark,
Yep, went out Wed. at 5am and got back at 1. Only two others launched at that time. See you next time. Leaving WB at 5 Fri. They're getting limits straight out about 28 miles in 59-60 degree water.

Tight lines

You sure waited a loooong time for your first tuna slaughter. Glad to hear you had a good time on your maiden tuna voyage!

THAT's what I'm talkin' 'bout!

Hope you get back out again soon!

Jen

Well, I bought rod and reel, minor addition to several in the garage, a HUGE freezer so ice wouldn't be a problem (and a place to store
stuff --take ice out, put tuna in) and am looking for a new used boat. Am I hooked or the fish?
