Crabbait/Skein's Boats Update - New Pics
Here is this week's update to the Edwing boats saga. Progress as of today:
First, the mighty Sculpin's shapely bow. This may be the view the scaly vermin first see! Note that the center window has not been cut out yet but the sheer pipe is finished and waiting for the railing.
Next, the Sculpin's cabin. Center headroom is 6'5".
And now, her lovely...uh...stern. Sheer pipe installed, waiting for railing and offshore bracket.
Oh yeah, just so she doesn't feel left out. Here is a picture of Skein's boat. Pretty cute, huh?
Next, the fuel tanks go in, then the decks. Hope I am not boring you guys to death with this stuff. Even if I am, watch this space for next weeks edition of the Sculpin Saga! (and Skein's boat, too)

When is it going to be done? Looks like it will be a great boat.

AtWorkaLot - That is a very good question. Ed says 10 days, plus a week to install stuff, first part of August we are shooting for.

Very, very nice!
I thought that center window was where the turret was going?
They're looking good guys. Won't be long now!

I see no fish nearby. They must have run away in fear.
Nice boat.

At this point it looks like recycled tin cans, but beauty is taking form.

Great pictures on the building progress. You and Skein will have great fun and many years of use out of those
B-U-T FULL boats. Congratulations. Life is short, "FISH NOW NOT LATER".

Re: Crabbait/Skein's Boats Update - New Pics
I suppose you guys are out buying jewelery and looking for places to mount it. You can't take a nice boat like that out in public without lots of jewelery.

Re: Crabbait/Skein's Boats Update - New Pics
So when Dr. Ed spanks this thing on the stern and announces the date, time, weight and length, do we all get a cuban cigar to celebrate the birth??
Let me know when you are headed down to pick her up, I will go decorate your house with pink ballons and ribbons.
Looking good

Re: Crabbait/Skein's Boats Update - New Pics
You know, I always said that my "retirement motorhome" would float. Looks as if my dream is coming true, and continuing the comparison, just try buying a motorhome for anywhere near what we're getting these boats for. Can't be done. Besides, I'd MUCH rather be out on the blue than fighting the traffic up and down I-5.
These fish destroyers are tough, sea-worthy, economical to run, and trailerable. That pretty much meets the criteria on my check-list. I can hardly wait. Do I sound like I'm sold on this baby or what???
I can't wait to take some of you guys out who have been sweating us through the whole process of picking them out, ordering them up, and getting them built. It's been quite a journey.
It's been a pleasure having you along.
Skein

Re: Crabbait/Skein's Boats Update - New Pics
I second Skein's sentiment and would like to personally thank all of you who have provided so much assistance by emptying the thousands of beer cans needed for their construction!
