Default Sherars Bridge - new rules....

Confederated tribes of Warm Springs will require every person that is fishing Sherars Bridge area to carry their own personal permit. Last year they required vehicle permits. This year you must carry your own personal card. No word on how much they are yet.

Do you know if the permit system is going to be like the one they have for the Metolious arm on Billy Chinook were you can buy by the day or by the year?

Is it going to be from the bridge upriver? I have never heard "for sure" how far down river the tribes own. Please keep us posted on this

I’m not sure how far down or up the tribes own But my advice is to pay the money and Fish. They own the Property and If they ever say I can’t fish there I will cry. I’m only 28 years old but all of my years have been on the Deschutes. I think the reason that we are too this point is because the railroad owns the road on the west side of the river and the tribes weren’t getting any money for people parking there. I have a call into the person that is in charge of this for the tribes. When he calls me back I will fill you all in. RussT…I know they own at least a couple hundred yards below the bridge Probably more. I know fore sure if you fish anywhere from the Ladder hole to the Britain Hole you have to pay.
