I also made it out to big blue today. I agree with everybody else about the water conditions. It was really sloppy in the morning, but seemed better by around noon.
We started heading WNW, to look for the 40 fathom line as well. We were going for a long time, and the depth seemed to be constant around 215 feet. After a while, we decided to just start fishing (real scientific

). We ended up fishing in around 220 feet of water, and around 8 miles out from the lighthouse. Two poles were at first on down riggers looking for some Chinook. One pole was setup with a diver for Coho. After a while, the Coho pole went off, but with no hook up. We saw some party boats heading our way, and saw the net fly a couple of times, so we figured we would just stay in the area. By the time we left, there were several party boats, and private boats in the area.
One thing we did notice was the temperature of the water. While heading out, the water was cold around 47 degrees. When we started getting fish, the water was at 51 degrees. We ended up fishing for around 4 hours, and brought 11 fish to the boat; 5 natives and 6 hatchery. We had two or three doubles as well. Also lost several more bites.
I tried hailing TackleBuster, but received no reply? I was on channel 78.
The day did have it's mishaps as well; four to be exact. At one point I had hooked a large fish, that we thought was a hatchery. Once in the boat, we found it otherwise. Another fellow and I were trying to get the hooks out, and un-tangle the net when my brother gets a fish on. I left my pole and net, to net the fish for my brother. All of a sudden I hear "what the heck! How did that happen?" I turned around to see my pole now had a customized third piece  Then, a little bit later I am sitting there feeling kind of funny, when all of a sudden I am hanging over the side saying high to the ocean with my breakfast   ! First time ever in my life for being sea sick. Fortunately it was short lived and I didn't miss any fishing action. Thirdly, while I was steering the boat, I asked to have my diver changed to a different color on my pole. Shortly there after I hear a clink clink noise, and turn to find my dodger and hoochie had gone overboard

. Lastly, and the biggest, I lost my fishing hat of ten years over the side of the boat  :depressed: :eek
