Note to all, from a sad painter.
It looks like its time to go do the tuna thing . I regret to say that due to cirumstance, I won't be able to make the scene this summer.
Yesterday my two year old Brittny got tangled up with a chunk of barbed wire and it cost me 400$. The alternator in my truck went out and the Hydraulic power tilt motor is out on my boat.
The boat shop is backed up for a week and my wife (while sharpening her Bobbit knife) mentioned that we are going to need to save for our two week trip to British columbia.
SO, as bad as it hurts me ,,, it will have to wait.
I apologise to Bait Boy,.
Ill get back to you all, and wish you all the best and safest year ever. id. painter.

Re: Note to all, from a sad painter.
Sorry to hear that. Not the end of the world. They will be here next year too. Two weeks in BC sounds pretty good to me.
Good luck with the Brittany. I have a 11 year old, who ripped open his abdomen on barbed wire at three. Must be a thing with the breed. Crazy dog was still trying to hunt, when I saw a fresh blood trail. I had to use duct tape to hold the wound closed while we drove 100 miles to get to a vet. I think the tab was about the same too.

Re: Note to all, from a sad painter.
That's gotta hurt. Start putting away for next year, a hands off no matter what fund. Skip lunch once a week and put away $5 each week.
Or like my realtor neighbor once asked "don't you know anybody you could sue"??
email me your address if I get any I'll send you a couple of pints

Re: Note to all, from a sad painter.
No worries I.D., the 2 weeks in B.C. with your family sounds pretty good to me.
I'm with Myles. I think I still have your address from the Salty Dog gear so I'll be sending you some pints as soon as I can get out and drop a line! Maybe with a little help from El Shaddai we could send you an expedited package of fresh loins on dry ice so you can experience your own sashimi fest?
We'll take care of ya brutha!

While I sympathize. I am just thankful that something truly horrible did not happen to you. While some may construe such circumstances as bordering on truly horrible, as a paramedic--I saw horrible. Your header made me panic after the loss of your dog last winter :depressed: .
You'll get out for tuna someday soon. Remember, time goes faster as ya get older .

Re: Note to all, from a sad painter.
I like the idea above. We may not be able to bring I.D. Painter to the salt--but we could bring the salt to I.D.
I've got 6 half pints canned yesterday that I'll chip in to start the fund. Sounds like the boy's going through a rough time--and what are friends for afterall. I wouldn't have any had it not been for my new Dawg friends
Seriously folks, I got 6 (I'd throw in some more, but the wife does the canning, which she somehow perceives in her twisted female mind as being the most DIFFICULT PART!!!!!!!!!!!!! ) Besides, she'd probably beat me senseless...again.

If you're talkin' to me BF, I wouldn't say no! If you're in Lincoln City--ya drive within a 1/2 mile of my house in Rickreall when ya go down 22.
I'm geared up anytime--I'll leave 'em on the porch if ya can't catch me.
H. Before 9pm please.(503) 831-0639.

Wildhawg, being from Rickreall, you know a little farmin' feller by the name of Scott Zigler? He's a fishin' buddy of mine that owns a few acres around those parts...

Re: Note to all, from a sad painter.
Sure--I know Scott and his family (Chuck just passed away recently). Poor boy's afflicted with "BIG UGLY" disease just like me.
Got any spare tuna for our saltless neighbor??

Re: Note to all, from a sad painter.
That's the spirit folks !!! We need to get ID's addy (I private messaged him for it), then lets send away. Be nice if he could get a couple o' cases of half pints or even more to take the edge off a hot, dry Idaho summer.
When I receive it, I'll e-mail ya'all and anyone else who'd be kind enough to help out an e-friend with some canned flyers.
Where are ya ID??
Self edit:
Bugflicker...you serious about shipping it all? OK with me (and a heck of a nice gesture), but we could ship 'em all ourselves. The other option is we have a cold drink and visit with one another while we drop off tuna.
Suggestions?

WH - Great minds think alike. Just before I saw your post, I was thinking it would be great if we could send ID.P some TUNA!
Where, when and to whom should we hand off our contributions?

Re: Note to all, from a sad painter.
seriously , i will handle the shipping via good old FEDEX (i get a substantial discout because im an employee) . i live in north portland , about 5 blocks from the cathedral park boat ramp.
I dont have anything going on this weekend (have to replace the impeller in the merc) . so if any of you are going to be in the area let me know.
I scored some styro boxes today to ship some of the frozen steaks i vac packed.then i will fill up the rest of the box with jars . come on ID PAINTER where's that address!!

Re: Note to all, from a sad painter.
Thanks you guys . Your too kind.
Ill be O.K.. Just now i was fixing toasted tuna (albacore) sandwiches for my family and felt the compulsion to get to a computer and see how you all are doing. I see things have not stood still for me . Im glad you guys are getting the bullets .
This year ill be using my tuna sticks as Halibut planks. The Hali fishing up around my fathers is good. Two fish, any size, per day....
If any fo you have any questions about my area i would love to be able to contribute. Thanks guys .. id. painter
