Keta, I've been resting.
We had a good weekend. Never made it to tuna town but did attempt it on Thursday with Popeye on the Julie Rose III.
Thanks for trip Popeye. It was great fishing with you.
Firday was a slow day for Salmon. We went north to the same place we fished with Bruce the day before. My Brother was sick all morning and at 11:00 am I took him in. He was lucky it was slow or he would have puked all day!
Saturday was a killer day. We filled a 150 qt cooler with salmon and a 100qt cooler with bottom fish. Mooching at the rockpile was the technique used. There are some huge kings being caught right now out there. I was playing the role of Master Angler.

Really putting on a clinic. I limited and then handed off 4 more nice nooks, a silver, and a 3ft ling.
Sunday was desolate out on Blue. We ran for the pile and made our first drift which accounted for one monster king that introduced the fact that my drag washers were carked from the day before. He broke me off when I was trying to slowly back the drag off to reduce the
jerking it was causing.
I retied and dispersed 75 pulls from a practicaly non existant drag, placed the rod in the holder and before I took my hand off it did the trout bite dance of a timid Chinnok. I thumbed the spool to control what was luckily a smaller fish.
The take was considerably different than the day before. With full bellies they were just mouthing the herring. You had to get the timing right and slam the hooks to them.
My crew was just behind me with their first fish. I picked up a nice Canary and we decided to reset for the second drift. Running directly into the swell we were taking green water over the bow. I was notched all the way back on throttle and down to one engine trying to eliminate it when we were hit with a big one. It washed a window out and (soaking wet) I called the trip.
I could have quartered past and then quartered back and set up for #2 but that Idea never came to me until after I took my sea water bath.
We saw three boats all morning; one was a commercial troller and two were trolling at the jetty entrance.
I took some pic's but the camera didn't make it home. :depressed:
