Default Teach me TUNA

O.K. I have been wanting to ask this for awhile.. but felt like a dumb---.
I'm a fishin fool and belive I can keep up with just about anything. Never have done tuna.
I have a Loomis Palergic Stand-up with a Penn 321GTI...will that work or NOT.
Next, how in the world does a guy get to be a salty (it really does run in my blood)and get a ride out to the big blue? $,beer, bait?

We caught two last year casting with 6501's so the 321 is a piece of cake. Would have been three but the fish stripped my buddy down to an overlap in the spool and busted off 80lb tuff+. It's amazing these fish can do that...

My 321 is spooled with 50# tuff. Caught a 12ft. gator last year with it and was pulling as hard as I could. Really think I should up to 80#?

50s fine as long as you lay it back on nice when your yankin' the slabs back in after a couple hundred yard run.

4 Reel,

You're set, just do a search on the Salty Dogs Forum for "tuna techniques" and you'll find all the information you could ever want to know about catching tuna in Oregon.

Keep your eyes open for open seat posts and I'm sure you'll get your chance.
