Live update, Miss B, Pete, and Keta
TUNA! Bottom fish! Whooo hooo!
I guess they are an hour out still, and heading to the dock.
66 fish in all to clean!!! Did I hear him right? Wow!
They had a tuna triple at one point!
It DOES sound exciting!

Re: Live update, Miss B, Pete, and Keta
Can i book a trip with them next weekend or the next. Rumor mill has it that if the weather holds; in a week or two the tuna could be in as close as 15 miles out.

In the Ocean!
That's all I know.. I'm sure when they get back they'll help you... I just have no idea.
Pete won't be home till Sunday, but I can call him, if I can get through cuz they are going to be cleaning fish all night!

I believe Miss B is out of the Columbia. A bit further north than you might want to go from Depoe, but the Sea Gypzee is out of Depoe if you can contact her.

Re: Live update, Miss B, Pete, and Keta
6 of us went out, not sure if the blue water would be within range, so we headed out to bottom fish on a rock pile about 20 miles off shore. What we found was beyond any expectations and after a half hour of searching, we got into a mother lode of bottom fish that took us to a boat limit in under an hour. The fishermen were in a frenzy, and, since it was still early morning, we started chanting "Tuna tuna tuna!" ... and off we went in search of the pelagic bullets.
So off towards the west the adventurers steamed, hoochies and cedars and all sorts of gear draggin behind. ... and we steamed and chugged on ... then ... a crackle from Minaki's radio "FISH FISH FISH!!!"
And then it was our turn ... "TUNA!!!"
It was getting late and we didn't need to clean the ocean ... so when we had one each in the box, we headed home, tired, successful and content.

Way to go Pete!
What an awesome trip you had!
Congrad's on the combo trip!
Praise be to the ifisher's and their safe outings, judgment and return!
Get JennieFish out there on a flat day so she can become a full salty dog ledgend (and see what a real fish fights like).
But you can give your catch to me Jen, because they are just trash fish and not worthy of human consumption.

Re: Live update, Miss B, Pete, and Keta
Actually, Dan, it's Way to Go Miss B Haven and Keta. Miss B merely had me along as a passenger. Keta spent the day before helping another gentleman with a problem on his boat. Thanks to Keta's mechanical talents and willingness to get really dirty for a day, we had another boat to accompany us onto the sea. I say, Three Cheers! to both Miss B and Keta for making this day possible ... one that will stand out in my memory for a very long time as the best ocean adventure ever.

Come to think of it, Keta, you got really dirty two days in a row. You must like doing that!

Ifisher's rule!
What a great site and a great bunch of fishermen.

Let it be known that ifisher's hold up to a certain ethical standard and will not tollerate unethical behavior and are out for the benefit of fishing, present and future.
Congrat's guys, heck of a day!

Keta:
You guys look like you had a great time. Hope we can hook up to fish together again. By the way, I have a line on the multi stone sharpening sets for you and Fishplay. Still interested?

Re: Live update, Miss B, Pete, and Keta
TUUUUUNNNNNNAAAAAAA!
Had a ball guys, what a long weekend though. Just got home (Miss B needed a bath REALLY bad) vacuum sucked the feeeesh and got a bite in my tummy. Time to sleep for a week. Oh- wait, woo, woo,, wooo wwwooork tomorrow. Man, I hate that word!
Great time, great crew, great ocean, great hunting partner, great fishing, great company, great golly Miss Molly....time to go to bed.
Oh ya- the Salmon fishing was tough Thurs and Sun for those of us who were to tired to go out at o-dark thirty (I HATE early morning bites!). Managed to work hard and get 1/2 limits both days. The nooks don't appear to there yet, just a few barely legals (and NOTE that the regs changes to 26" minimum this year all season). Almost NO pressure out there, that's really nice! Real good bite this morning from what I saw of the boats coming in.
Adios Amigos!
