Default This week...tuna!

Well, I missed the opportunity to beat Pilar...chose to not go out Thursday for tuna. Looks like that was an error! Correcting that, I will be out after the bullets on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week out of Depoe Bay(weather permiting) and would love to have other boats join the hunt! Come on all you fisher folks! The weather predictions look good and John has shown us the tuna! Join the fun and help get an armada out there this week. I am stuck working until then, darn it! Tuesday I would like to test the capacity of the boat....and my arms! Let no tuna escape before we have a shot.

I am going to try running out Tuesday as well and long as conditions calm down a bit. Today 7/6 was a no go as wind and 6' at 6 seconds changed by mind. I have a slip in Depoe and will be heading out at 5:00, will monitor channel 78.

See ya in the am.

El Shaddai, Seasquid, Marty, Myles, Andycoho, and WP for Tuesday. Sounds like we have an adequate pack! Lets go get 'em! 0500 departure for the hot tuna bite. Weather looks good and if the tuna hold out for us, it could be an awesome day on the hunt! Don't forget your ice and supplies BEFORE you get to Depoe Bay as nothing is open until after 0500. The light sure comes early these days!

How 'bout it boys? Is there any room for Ragnar or are there enough crew members already? I understand if that's the case. I'll need to know today if things look good. I'll probably head down that way tonight if it's a go. Or perhaps, meet up with one of you early early tomorrow morning.

Sounds like the Tuna are in my back yard. Our Trophy is loaded with gear and gas and we're headed down monday night to Depot Bay.

Im taking Steve from DFW, deck hand, experienced Albi fisherman from San Diago, has lots of tricks. He fished on saturday out of Garibaldi on a 24 foot sea dory, 40 miles out on a 250 compus heading, and GOT FISH !

GOT FISH on 6in plugs in the morning and jigs in the afternoon. See you guys on tuesday morning 5am sharp.

Myles,
Getting out is easy...small harbor and one boat at a time through the slot (incoming has right of way) make sure to mark the can and slot on your GPS though as it is not real visible when returning! On return be sure to use the range markers to come into the channel...it looks off but is the center of the channel. Crossing is actually not a problem as there is little tidal flow. You can see the whole harbor from anywhere in it!

Well, today isn't looking very promising judging from all the replies I'm receiving. Oh stop. Please, I'm begging you! Ok,,Ok, one at a time now. There's plenty of me to go around. Just kidding of course.
I just wanted those of you with boats that are hot for tuna to know that I will be available all week for crew duty. I think I have most all the gear I need.
Oh, forgot to mention.... I can bring the ice. Flake ice and lots of it!
Any takers?

There's a small boat down here tonight desperately looking for a crew. His partner cancelled out and he is going the distance alone tomorrow.

He's got a 24' boat with new motor and electronics I heard.

I talked to him Bob is his name and told him the ifisher's use 78 on the V and other info.

He's suppose to be real experienced.

I'm going to go down to the port docks and let him know there are a lot of ifisher's leaving at 5:00am.

So there is an open seat ot two if anyone is interested in going with Bob.

Just like a lake down here right now and not even a breeze.

If it gets to where someone can't go, I can take another fisher tomorrow too. Lets try to get Bob a deck hand or two first though. Way more fun to have company while hunting tuna!

I won't be joining the wolf pack this time, sorry guys. Have to work this week....and have a few things to take care of before the next trip.

Good luck to all who head out tomorrow, and be safe and productive. Come back covered in tuna blood!!

Yea sorry about that Woody.

Marty found Bob one tuna slayer and Bob got one of the locals to join in also before i got back down to the docks. I tried.

Went over to the boat ramp area and met sea squid but he had a crew and Dennis from Captain and Marie fame who I have met previously was pretty sure his crew was going to show up in the AM.

Sorry it didn't work out but we tried. It's raining here in Depoe presently.

Sure thing Marie. He is in good company. Lots of salty ifisher's and a couple privates in the wolf pack.

I am fileting for a charter boat today and will call him on his cell in awhile and have him call Dennie and friends on 78. The charter is fishing the tug 13 miles out so should not be a problem for any contacts either way.

We just had a gust a minute ago but must have just been a squall. Flat calm here a few blocks up.

What's Dennis boat name or handle he would use on the radio?
