Capitol/Weyeh access to Valsetz?

Anyone know when they will open those gates into Valsetz via Hoskins or Blackrock or a number I can call? Also, haven't been in there in about 5 years and was up at the Hoskins entrance and somebody had hand written no ATV's...surely that can't be true as long as you stay on the main roads it is just like any other motorized vehicle..any thoughts???

Guy at capital told me not until fire season was completly over. Could be soon with this rain coming in.
janderson@forestcap.com was the address I e-mailed to find out the scoop. Cant remember the guys first name but he is the head guy around the Monmouth office.

The no ATV's is true. Huge fine if you get caught. To many jerks circumventing the gates and tearing things up. Weyerhauser is just looking for reasons to close it off for good.

Figures, the work of a few knuckleheads cost the rest of us wear and tear on a vehicle and gas$$...it sure was nice to unload somewhere at the bottom and cruise around on a 4-wheeler instead of burning fuel.....

I called today and as of right now it is still closed,depending on how much rain we get it may open next weekend,for valsetz that is. weyerhauser may be awhile there alittle more strict. Good luck to anyone that can find a place to go.

The Black Rock and Mill Creek Mainline gates are open on weekends. Both will be closed during the week.

Valsetz opens when fire season ends...soon I hope.
