Thought that i would share these pics with you all. They were done by Jeremy at Uplanders Bird Taxidermy. Maybe he should now be Bird and Reptile Taxidermy. Hope they spark some interest. Enjoy
This is the bird/snake mount in the beginning.
Thought that i would add some close-up pics so you can see some of the detail and the start of the project.
Here is some pics of my 4th snake, the pics aren't as good as I had hoped. This snake is cool cause it has a real greenish look to it, with different shades of green in and out of its pattern. It was 31" not including rattle. This snake is going on a enviorment with a quail, ill have pics posted of it along with all my other completed snakes in a week or so if your interested. Let me know what I can improve on if you see anything.
Another carved form that I had to add about a 3" section on top as my foam was not tall enough. If you look close there is a slight s-curve behind the magic sculpt patch, in the picture it appears to be a discrepency in the way I carved the form but its not.
I know eye color is off, but I think this color looks better than complete gold. After I have done extensive research I have come to the conclusion that in order to get the color right on most snakes, including a NP I will have to paint them so I have a special order coming of 3,4 mm flints with slits in them. Don't know if I can pull it off but ill try most anything once.
I took the pics outside and had to lighten them, so they arent as good as I hoped.
