Heading out in the morning at 05:00 for Tuna with the Pilar pack.
More reports and pictures to follow.

Re: Sea Jypzee Scores "L's" for 4 on the 4th
"Way to go you lucky dogs". I worked part of the day helping a friend move his kids stuff home form Eugene. ( 9 to 2:30 ) And it was plenty hot.
Hope to go out tomorrow and chase a few of the Coho as I have a newby passanger and what then to get into something.
Where, how far out were the Coho? Should I launch at Depot Bay or Newport? I here the boat ramp at Depot Bay has a parking problem. Just how early do I have to be there to get a parking spot? I remember the two dollar fee and will donate so they can build a bigger better ramp.
Got that marine radio mounted and working. What channels do I run out there for some chatter and tips? Can hardly wait.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helv">Steve - The bite today was scattered all over. We started out around 33 fathoms, moved out to almost 50 fathoms, then got our last 3 fish inside just off of the Whistle Bouy. Many of the charters were running into the same type of scattered bite.
Ocean was not too bad. A little bouncy in the afternoon, but managable. We were in before the wind really started blowing though.
I believe Pilar said around 300 degrees straight out of Depoe Bay. By the numbers he gave above, that sounds about right.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helv">Snapshot - Your choice as to going out of Depoe or Newport. The ramp at Depoe Bay itself is much better than Newport, but as you say parking can sometimes be a pain. I'd recommend getting in early to get a parking spot...
I monitor 78 on the VHF, you can try to catch us there as we're running out.

CB 21 if you want Tradewinds and most of the sport boats. 35 if you want Dockside Chareters.
Channel 80 if you want either one on the "V".
Channel 13 CB if you want the commercials and some sport. 16 on the "V" if it is a Coast guard emergency or 9 on the CB.
Good luck!
Dan
