Prop problems
I'm having a little problem with my engine, and I thought I might throw it out to the brain trust here at the Salty Dogs forum. Last summer I "spun" my prop. In other words, the hub was turning but the blades weren't. The problem would come and go, and usually letting off the throttle would make it go away. I bought the boat used six years ago, and chalked it up to just one of those things. When I went to replace it I was told that this was not the right prop for my engine (95 Johnson 115). I noticed much better performance with the new prop. Nine months later I spun the new prop, this time it just went all at once. I took it back to the shop and complained enough to get a new prop free. Now it's two months later and it's "spinning" intermitently again. Anyone have any theories on why this is happening and what I can do short of new 4-stroke (my favorite solution, not so much with my wife). Thanks
