Where to buy tuna plugs and feathers.
On my trip to fishermans last evening I looked to tuna plugs and feathers. ZERO feathers and a few assorted plugs left.
I am heading to the astoria area tomorrow and will be stopping by Englund Marine. Perhaps there is an online store or even another place in portland that has feathers and plugs?

Try Sportsmans Warehouse. They are opening up a new store on 82nd just south of Johnson Creek. It is just about ready to open. I have heard the week of the 7th. This is unconfirmed info.
Peace, Tom

Re: Where to buy tuna plugs and feathers.
Englund's Astoria store has a pretty good selection of feathers, broomtails, clones, birds, the right swivels, hooks and handline makings.
I have looked all over and cannot find Fishtraps. Oh well, I will keep looking.

Bernie,
If you wanted plugs or feathers you should have talked to Roy. He's been making both recently and seems to have the process down.

Re: Where to buy tuna plugs and feathers.
Bernie, after a few tears, I have mounted the antenna and marine radio and ready to give it a trial run tomorrow(Saturday).
Try to visualize this, plugs, fur, feathers and Roy? What's next BOE, ammunition? Hope all is well and you sleep well at night in that tent.
Go get em guys, I will be following but not real closely.

Re: Where to buy tuna plugs and feathers.
Thanks edsr. Are you guys getting the jig heads from fishtrap.com, too? 2oz?
I have seen jig heads all over the place but I am concerned about hook strength. I have also seen some much better looking heads than the ones I have seen online but can't find where I saw them now (of course). I will rattle back through all the catalogs.

Re: Where to buy tuna plugs and feathers.
TOP SECRET-
The fuel dock at south beach has a limited selection of gear, but SMOKING prices. Yozuri K90 planer board for 25 bucks, stainless barbless dual tuna hooks for .85, and a bunch of cool feathers. If you are going to go to the Newport Englunds, stop by here too.

Re: Where to buy tuna plugs and feathers.
Threemuch, It would seem that after my shopping spree at the fuel dock someone went to Englunds to check prices.
I was in again Sunday and was going to make another raid on under priced tackle and WOW.
Inflation had struck. Oh well it seems good things never last. :depressed:
Also; Englands in Newport has the fishtraps. They had a big tent sale the 4th and 5th and some killer deals were made. I picked up two of the planers like the ones Threemuch showed me the other day for 10 bucks each. 1200 ft of 3/8 crab line for 39.00. Scotty releases and stackers for 6.00. Grundens for 20.00.
Everything inside the store was at least 10% off and some things such as divers and flashers were 25% off.
They were serving food too. Deep fried turkey, halibut, salmon, taters & onions, and ALBACORE.
They knew how to keep a guy around spending more money!
