Default Help. Is this for steering a kicker???

I have a 2005 I/O Crestliner. Right above the motor I have a black box. There is nothing really hooked up to it. I'm thinking its for steering for a kicker. Here are some pictures what I am talking about. The last picture shows where the kicker should be mounted. That black box is right in-line with the holes on the out side of the kicker area. I tried to turn the steering wheel while it was NOT running. Nothing moved. Do you know what this is?

That is a Panther Steer unit...there should be a small, black 2 button switch wired to it. It is for steering a kicker motor.

I was hoping it was for steering. I will do more research on the panther. Thank you. Anymore info would be greatly appreciated.

I found the steering remote. It was tucked under the dash with twist tyes. Now all I have to do is get the rods and hook up the kicker. Thank you I-fish. I got a responce faster then I could have figured it out for myself.

If your boat came with a kicker, and it wasn't hooked up, and the previous owner didn't mention it, there's probably a reason why. Before going out and buying all the pieces, try testing it to see if it works?

RR,
This boat has never had a kicker on it. I am looking for all the pieces. I need the tye arm (rod) to connect to the Panther. Plus I need a kicker. I am ready to buy. I am just looking for one.
