divers/fishermen
Looking for other diver/fishermen that may want to put something together this month.
I was thinking Neah Bay for 3-4 day weekend, but am open for any thing else.
My dive buddies don't fish and my fishing partners don't dive.
I have a newer 19' sled with a good swim deck, ladder,VHF and flags. that I have used in B.C. It works great for 3 guys. My idea is to do slack and low current drift dives with a live boat and alternate boat operators so each can make 2 dives. Fishing would be bottom fish and Salmon fishing. I have fished and dived Neah Bay, its a great place to do both.
I am open for other ideas. If interested post it here or shoot me an e-mail.

Re: divers/fishermen
Sounds good, I can do all as suggested with some measurable amount of proficiency.

Re: divers/fishermen
B-gist,
My wife and I might be interested in hooking up with you, but probably not right away. We've got tooooo many irons in the fire to take a diving detour. However, one of the reasons we chose the boat we did was to be able to dive out of it. Maybe we can put some trips together before summer ends.
Most of our diving is just that - diving. We don't spearfish, but sometimes harvest a few scallops. We have no hangup with that, it's just that we seem to fill our fish larder with rod and reel, so choose to just look and explore when we're down under. Lots of our friends go on "hunting trips" and seem surprised and disappointed that we don't carry a pointed projectile. We sure don't want to get in the way of someone else's fun.
We'll take a rain check for now, but want to revisit this later on. In the meantime, have fun up there and be safe.

Re: divers/fishermen
Skein, sound like we have something in common. I have nothing against scuba hunting but also prefer a rod and reel for bagging fish.
Sorry Hummingbird I don't teach scuba, check out your yellow pages for a scuba shops they pretty much all offer classes and cert. programs. You may ask about "Discover Scuba" its a program that lets you pool dive with a divemaster to see if its for you.

Re: divers/fishermen
Bobberologist,
sounds like we are on the same page of FUN things to do. Have been diving for 20 years on the Oregon coast along with a few tropical locations. Believe it or not I like diving of our Coast the best.
Started sport Salmon fishing 35 years ago and still love it! It's the best of both worlds. Have dabbled in the Tuna chase and could get hooked real easy (if not already). We are heading to Port Orford this weekend for Diving and Salmon fishing! Haven't dove Neah bay area yet but heard it is good. Let's keep in touch, compare notes and do some Diving/Fishing/Fun!

Re: divers/fishermen
HI bobber, It looks like we have a few things in common. I am a certified open water diver and have all my own gear I will be taking my advanced in august.I love to salmon and steelhead fish and think my favorite is bobber for summer and winter steelhead.I am looking for someone to do local dives with maybe yale, merwin or where ever. I can't always get away to drive up to puget sound to go dive and would like to do it more often.I would like to go dive up at Neah Bay on a combo trip,I have heard it is a great place to dive but am busy this month and would like to get my advanced certification first also.I own a 16ft boat and have an R.V. that sleeps 4 adults I could possibly get away for a trip in August though. You can contact me through E-mail at tz_98682@yahoo.com

Re: divers/fishermen
Bobberoligist, you might hook up with Smily (Andy) He has extensive diving experience and is a great guy to fish with too. He's here on i-fish. Give himi a shout.
