Default Salmon Blood shed on Sea Jypzee

The Sea Jypzee went out of Depoe Bay this morning about 06:30. Back in dock with a big "L" by 9am. Went out about 5 miles straight out of Depoe Bay in about 32 fathoms. Fishing diver/flasher/hootchie combo. Released a few nates. Got a nice 15lb Chinook as the final fish for this morning.

Ocean was beautiful, sunshine all around, calm seas.

Ahhh, life is good!

Congratulations on the 'first blood'. Seas out of Charleston are calm right now too. Looks like the trick the next few days is, get out early and then scramble for home when it starts looking icky.

WTG Nancy! Congrats. Limits and short runs are good.

Wow, you don't mess around! Calm seas, smooth ride, and fish in the boat. Does it get any better?

Congrats!

Thanks all - Will be likely heading back out again tomorrow (friday) and have open seats if anyone is interested.

DepoeBayDan - Got your email and have a seat saved for both of you tomorrow. Still room for a couple more people if anyone is interested in joining us.

Actually there isn't that big a chance they will get salmon poising from salmon caught in the salt.

I was told by a vet years ago when Mason got salmon poisioning that it is a parisite that comes from a fresh water snail that is ingested by salmon, steelhead and trout usuallly after they have re-entered fresh water.

He told me there was documented instances where dogs have got it from ocean caught salmon but very rare.

He also told me that once they experience salmon poisioning, they rarely get it again.

Dan

(I foresee a new thread brewing on LIG).

Actually she made no effort to even get near it. She wanted nothing to do with that slimmy thing flopping on the deck and was happy to see it tossed down below in the hold.

I would be honored to travel out to the salmon hunting grounds on the Sea Jypzee. Is that the name of your boat or just your moniker? I believe your name is Nancy is it not? I live in Portland, but would be happy to make the trip down to Dopey bay in the morning. I'll donate to the gas and bait kitty and have my own gear. Please let me know if your seats are still 'open'. It would be a pleasure to meet some more ifishers. Lukas

Luke - You have email.

Still have a couple of more seats available for Salmon fishing tomorrow morning if anyone else is interested. Leaving out of Depoe Bay at 6am, Dock 2.

Yes, Nancy is my name. Sea Jypzee is the boat, (though no name on it as of yet since I just got it here).

Lucky luke has got it right. I promised a friend that I would help him move his daughter back from Eugene tomorrow as I have a neighgor frindly pickup. I saw the note but went back out to finish installing my marine radio and antenna.

Man oh man, five holes and a few tears later I fininsed the job. Only part left it to get power to the radio.

I am wishing good fishing for all of you and I will be ready for Saturday if you are up to it Luke. Maybe we can tag along Saturday with the Sea Jypzee or better yet all go in my boat. All of you are welcome of course. I really need some salmon blood in this boat.

Luke, Post or call me with the results....
