Default critrgitr has the ifish spirit!!

I put a post on the General Classified looking for a carport to use as a kitchen at deer camp this year. We've used an old broken down one with a mix of tarps and sticks for missing poles for years, but shortly after we sold our elk tent, my friends barn burned down melting the frame. I was worried that my 84 year old father in law would feel really restricted to his camper if the weather was cold as it goes right through him these days.

I was getting ready to head to Costco to buy a new one when critrgitr came to the rescue!! He gave me (not sold me) two carports that are in great shape that he had extra since he built his shop. I've never met critrgitr before yet he insisted that I just take them. He set them out by his shop so that I could pick them up today while in Portland on business. I owe you man!!

His action was really inspiring given all of the doom and gloom the past few days. It'll really help make camp more comfortable for my father in law and that's my whole goal this hunting season.

Critrgitr you are one class act!!!

I'll second the idea that there are still trustworthy people out there!

I called and agreed to buy some things from Fellow Ifisher "Fishing Monarch". I told him i would be in the area around a set time. Come to find out the job i was working on went about an hour later than expected. Called him to let him know i wasnt going to make it in time and he said no worries that since he wouldnt be home, he would leave the items on the front porch and for me to just put the money in the mailbox! Needless to say the deal worked out perfectly!

Two Fister,
I just noticed this post today and I gotta tell you I am a little embarrassed. This was not that big a deal – I didn’t need the carports anymore and you did so I was glad to help a brother out. I am glad they worked out for you.

Don't be embarrased! What you did was a really nice gesture. The carport worked like a charm and we stayed warm and dry despite wind, rain, snow, and just about the worst (or best) weather I have seen since I started deer hunting in Oregon in 1990. My father in law could be found sitting in the front of the carport at the table that we set up inside with a propane heater on one side and the fire in front of him. Given the weather we got during the opening weekend I would say that you made his trip.

Thanks again! That alder you were stacking was looking a bit wet. How about I bring you some nice dry central Oregon lodgepole pine to get your fires going the next time I head to Portland?
