Tuna 10 miles out (Cascade Head)

I got a call (Wednesday night) from a buddy on his cell phone. He is on a research vessel heading from CR to Newport. He said that they spotted breaking fish tuesday. While pulling a trawl yesterday they caught a nice albacore. He said that they were only about 10 miles off of Cascade head. Water was 60-61. He gets in today. I'll ask him more details when I talk to him.
How far of a run would that be out of Depoe Bay???;

Cascade Head is about 15 miles north of Depoe Bay. A fairly easy run depending on seas and weather.

I'll be Salmon fishing tomorrow, may consider a run upto Cascade Head for some tuna on Saturday morning if anyone else is headed that direction.

I heard late this morning 13 miles off of Cascade Head the tuna were seen last evening. (wed. evening).

My buddy hasn't called me back yet...sorry for the wait. Hopefully he'll give me a ring tomorrow. I'll post as soon as I find out. I'll be fishing out of Depoe Bay Sat and Sun. We plan on fishing tuna...but will go to salmon if the weather doesn't cooperate.
What time are folks going to meet at the ramp to head out??? Are Ifishers on 78 out of Depoe too?

Fishmstr - yes, I scan 78 here for ifish talk. Will see about joining for tuna tomorrow. Weather is a major factor, and I doubt I'll be willing to make a run TOO far due to questionable range on the boat at this point. Need to get some saddle tanks added for more security.

I will be heading out at about 6.00 am from depoe bay on saturday. I beleive I have a friend of mine going as well in his boat. This is uncertain however if he shows up I will head out for tuna weather and seas permitting. If not I will fish for salmon, and lings.
My boat is 20' so it wont take much for the weather to not permit me to go.
