Re: Gettin the knee scoped
Let me guess. You play softball, basketball, and flag football and chase chukkars in all the canyons. I had seven scopes, 4 right and 3 left. At 49 had my hips replaced and at 55 had my first knee replaced. No more anything above except fishing and a little hunting deer and elk. Good luck and take care of your legs. When they go life gets a little more miserable.

Re: Gettin the knee scoped
been scoped twice and have had reconstruction on my ankle, I have broken a many bones and had numerous sprains. just take it easy I have to watch it, and even be careful at work, things I would normally jump down off of I take the old man way out and slowly step off, or climb down.......lol

Wow, that's some good guessing there. Do I know you somehow, lol. I do all of those except chasing chukar. Maybe someday I'll learn to not play so hard.
Surgery went well though. They found and removed a couple of pieces in my knee. Should be up and walking tomorrow.

I gotta go in and get a tear repaired in October (left mideal (sp?) miniscus (sp?) Hope that don't keep me down very long.
As far as the surgery goes... what did you opt to do? Spinal block or be put out? I have some anxiety building thinking about a needle in the spine.

I had an ACL repair about 15 years ago. The spinal block wasn't that bad, but they also gave me another shot that was new at the time called a femoral block. Between the two I felt no pain for most of the day.

This time I had them put me under. On previous knee surgeries I have done the spinal. It's kind of fun to actually be able to watch the screen and ask questions about what's going on. Definitely a very weird odd sensation to not be able to feel anything from your waist down though.

Re: Gettin the knee scoped
I had a femoral block done with my knee surgery last March...they opened my knee up. I have yet to regain sensation in a big portion of my inner thigh, which was very annoying but have gotten used to it now.

Is a femoral block the same thing as a spinal block? Sounds bad
