Default Seattle Area Guide Suggestion

Hey Guys,

A close friend in Seattle was recently wed...I told him and his blushing bride I'd like to purchase them a guided fly fishing trip to celebrate their matrimony. I'm not sure how excited she is, but he's been calling me everyday about booking something
It sounds like her work/life won't let her get down to the Big D or Grande Ronde and they wanna fish soon...

Any suggestions for a good SRC/Coho fly guide on the Sound or maybe a good fly guide for Steelhead around Seattle (if there still is decent steel fishing around the Sky/Skagit or Olympic Peninsula)?

Thanks.

Totally depends what you want to give them. There are good fly guides in the salt, targeting SRCs and the few coho that came back this year. (Prime time right now for SRCs) I would reccomend Tyee Charters, Matt McCulloch - 206 799 2530.
great guy and a lot of fun to fish with. If he is busy, which he very well may be this time of year, Keith Robbins at Spot Tail is another well respected guide.
Steelheading close to seattle right now is poor at best and not for those who need action. I wouldnt reccomend that for her if she is already a little uneasy about the whole deal. It can be very frustrating, especially for newbies.
shoot me a PM if you need any more ideas on guides for the local waters.

Is the Cowlitz too far away and what is their experience level?

Never fished with him but met him a number of times and seems to really know his stuff.
He's in Oregon this week fishing.
Send him an email and let him know I sent you.
If you use him, post a report.

Buy them a good time on the Yakima with Jack Mitchell at the evening hatch or the boys at Worleybuggers in Ellensberg. The canyon is beautiful this time of year and it is tough to beat for fishing out of a boat.

It's an hour and a half and worth it versus what you will find around puget sound.

Hey Thanks for all the replies guys. Given my bro's bride's reluctance to travel and the current opportunity in the immediate Seattle vicinity, I think they are gonna wait for the winter fishery.

I did speak with two of the suggested guides, both were friendly and helpful.

And Slow and Low, my buddy and I rented a driftboat from the Evening Hatch in July, great time on a beautiful river, and I'll never forget the Chinook Jack that spooled my 4 wt. and then spit the hook
