Default Garabaldi bottom fishing report 6/28

Went out on the Norwester on Saturday, left the Dock a 6:00am and the bar and ocean were a bit bumpy. The wind showed up at 10:00am. The fishing was OK, lots of lings Cabazons Greenling. Very few Black Rockfish(Bass). The skipper said he meter tons of Bass but they had lockjaw. My largest fish was a 12lb Ling, I caught it on a Scampy (Twin tail grub) with a strip of squid on the end. I was using a Diawa SH20SL reel with 12 lb line and a 7 foot Calstar rod. It was great feeling having that ling peel off line and shack it's head.
Talked to one guy at the dock that went on a salmon charter. three guys caught 15 Coho 6 of which were keepers the rest were natives.
