Yes, me too. I'm headed over tomorrow for one or two days and would love to shorten my search time...

Re: Any Newport Coho reports from the weekend?
We went over Saturday and didn't do any good at all. We went out about five miles and didn't get a bite. Actually we didn't see anyone with a fish. The fish warden had not seem any fish either. So I can only give you bad news. I did hear today that the fishing out of Winchester and Charelston was very good. I guess I can only tell you the old stroy...... you know you should have been here on Tuesday. 8>]

We went Sunday still not to good.We did get to bring home 2 coho,we released 1 wild and missed a couple more on the boat I was on. Brother in law got 32" Chinook and released 1 wild I think he was in around 200' of water and out noth a little. We were more west and in about 230'.Ocean wasn't all that nice, maybe this weekend will be better.

Hey Lepper, I believe that the all brag no tech fish reports belong on the "ifish community" zipper lip forum . Most of the Salty Dogs I know don't play that game. I'm happy that you guys did good. Thanks for trying. HJ

Re: Any Newport Coho reports from the weekend?
Darn, I wish the reports were better also :depressed:
We'll be there from 2nd to the 6th, planning on fishing 4th and 5th.
Got spoiled fishing Winchester Bay this last weekend, "like the good ol' days" quick limits every day  Coho from 7 to 11 pounds, no chinook.
Hope it picks up

Re: Any Newport Coho reports from the weekend?
On Sunday, started at the Whistle and headed NW (mostly N because of the wind) but got into nothing. Picked up and ran off the Lighthouse to 190'. Picked up the 32" King mentioned above in 222' a little N. of the lighthouse. This is the first 222', then it shallows up, then drops off again. Just after, picked up the native Coho that was released. The water here was only about 47/48 degrees. I believe we should have run further out to find some warmer water, but it was pretty rough and I didn't want to have to travel back from afar.
Several Charters returned from even further NW of our position off the Lighthouse. Fish checker said one private boat had limited on Coho off the N. end of the RockPile.
