Default Boat Glass ...

OK, I cracked a side window last spring and have been thinking about getting
it fixed for over a year now. A couple of the boats at Depoe Bay were also
having glass work done (new glass, new seals, etc.) and had a guy named Wayne
Westby out of Hillsboro doing the work. I talked to Darrel an the Kadaho and he
really liked the work Wayne did on his boat.

So while Wayne was down at the docks a couple of weeks ago working on a couple of
other boats I had a talk with him. He came down to the boat and looked it over and
told me he could replace the tinted saftey glass window for $200. The glass was
going to cost over $100! Ouch! OK, I'd heard really good things about him from
the charter captains in port that were having thier glass worked on ... I took the
plunge and set up a time last Friday afternoon for him to meet me.

He showed up 15 minutes early and went right to work, disassembling my window
frame, cutting glass ... the whole bit. Took him just a wee bit over 2 hrs. to
do the job. I followed him back up to the truck to see what the damage was going
to be ...

The glass was a little more expensive than he had thought ... he had to put in
a little more time cleaning the old sealant off the boat and window frame. He
pulls out his calculator, punches in the numbers and hands me a bill for 5% LESS
than he had quoted me!!! AND he did a *really* nice job! AND he cleaned up his
mess when he was done!!!!

I would definatley recommend Wayne for any Ifisher that needs to get boat glass
done!! He does replacements, reasealing, new rubber seals ... He does it all!!
Following are the particualrs:

Thanks Wayne!! Job well done!!!!!

Did you ask him if he wanted to get into the boat painting business?

I was absolutely sure while I was reading your thread you were going to tell us that you got overbilled again. Glad you had a good experience this time.
