Re: Where do fish hide?
Actually, I've found the best luck I've had is being in a pontoon out from the bank, casting in. Then I try different zones. They cruise along the shoreline looking for food. This time of the year, most lakes are pretty weedy which is also where the big ones can be but they'll take you into the weeds and break off. Other than just flat "horsing" them, I haven't the experience yet to know how to fight/play them in the weedbeds.
Another great place to learn alot is at the sportsmans show. There's a few seminars put on by some great flyfishers. Denny Rickard is always there...after the seminar, hit his booth. He'll tell you just about anything you want to know (and sell you just about anything he has to sell...haha) OR join a local flyfishing club, if you are into the club thingy. They usually plan alot of trips, both locally and out of state. There's always some real experienced flyfishers in those too who are very willing to share info (Don at River City is great) as well as some other great local tackle shops. Hope this helps.
Tight lines!
