Thanks for the input. It's upriver for my crew this time I guess. I'll be out of ST Hellens in a blue and white Bluewater boat Sunday. Wave if you see me.

Happy fishing!

BlueWater.

Fish out of Kalama, Rainier, the trojan plant area. Limited the boat everytime. 60 to 70 feet of water, just below the trojan, also directly off of marker 54 just above the island upriver from the Trojan about three miles, 50 feet of water, also next set of pilings down, 110 foot hole, anchor in thirty feet above it, set your boat on top of the hole, directly across from piling about twenty yards off of it, cast into the back of the hole or backbounce it down through the hole, also if you move in towards the bank just below the piling, its about twenty feet and can catch springers there as well. This hole is best on incoming due to the amount of current on lowtide. Better for salmon on Lowtide.

I was talking about sturgeon except for the last part for salmon.

Just got another good report, also if you know what the temperature of the water is, fish where its warmest. Smelt with pro-cure sturgeon cocktail and crawdad scent in the gills, or injected into the chest cavity, 7/0 hook rigged with hook coming out of mouth anf half hitched at tail, always have the head facing downriver, good luck.

Default Any Astoria sturgeon reports?

Sunday of this week and I will be taking an out of state crew sturgeon fishing for a friend. I was wondering if anyone had some recent reports of the Astoria, Tongue Point area. I would like to take my guests were they can keep there catch instead of C & R fishing on the upper river if I can.

Thanks in advance.

Too early for any consistant action. There will be some fish up above the Toungue Point area but you will do a lot of hunting to find them. That could be a bust as well if the smelt make a push in the next couple of days and hit the Cowlitz. I would stay around the Portland/St. Helens area and CandR if it was me.
