Central Oregon Coast All-depth Recreational
Pacific Halibut Fishery to re-open August 1
Sufficient poundage remains after the May-June recreational fishery for an August 1, 2, 8 and 9 fishery for Pacific halibut in all-depth waters between Cape Falcon and Humbug Mountain. The August fishery is structured to be open on Fridays and Saturdays. If additional poundage remains after August 9, the fishery will reopen Friday and/or Saturday, August 22 and 23.
The recreational Pacific halibut fishery between Cape Falcon and Humbug Mountain remains open inside of the 30-fathom curve seven days a week. This fishery will remain open until either the quota is reached or October 31, 2003, whichever occurs first.
The Oregon recreational Pacific halibut fishery also remains open in all-depth waters north of Cape Falcon and south of Humbug Mountain seven days a week.
The daily bag limit is the first fish 32 inches or longer and the annual limit is six Pacific halibut.
Retention of canary rockfish and yelloweye rockfish is prohibited during the all-depth Pacific halibut season if any halibut are onboard the vessel.
