Default Newport Tuna Wednesday

Just a note regarding tuna off the Central coast yesterday. The commercial fleet had a 10 hour halibut opener and many of those boats trolled some tuna gear around while their flattie gear was soaking. They had to stay outside of 100 fathoms, so many of them hugged that line while they looked around for tuna. Some vessels caught a few fish and I did hear of one that caught 50. The area covered was from Newport to about Cascade Head. Weather was real sloppy. Doesn't sound to promising for the next few days as well.

I got word that at least one boat out of Warrenton is selling Tuna at the docks. It's a start and an early one at that!
