Default Fish Trap??

Ok, guys, I got the Zucker Broomtails, the Death Feathers, Clones and Cedar Plugs but I have not seen a Fishtrap.

What is a Fishtrap and where do you find them?

Picked up a really cool brain spike at Englund's, too.

Englunds in Newport has em. Take a right when you come in the door then go about 30' down the wall on your right side. Small display between the windows. Available online too.

Hiya Crabbait, "fishtrap" is a brand name of a swim bait. Link to their site:

web page

See the color chart for patterns.

Englunds is starting to carry them. If you run into me or Marty sometime, we'll turn you on to a few.

Englunds in Astoria has them too (closer for ya). They aren't the actual fishtrap brand, cost under a buck (real buck, not a boat buck). They look just like the rubber shad baits you see in the Catalogues.
You'll need lead head jigs with the barb (to hold the trap). 2-4 ozs, I rigged some heavier to get down a little trolling, but then I haven't tried em yet either. Got them at end of season last year.

PS- I can pick some up for ya weekend of the 4th if ya want, I'll be down there.

Fish Traps!!!!! Yup, I have a sack full of them that I keep in the bottom of my offshore tackle box. Now let me explain. My offshore tackle box is a 60Qt. Igloo cooler. The fish traps are tough and durable. If you have not tried them for bottom fish give them a try. Remember too, they get chewed up, beat up and worn out but all you have to do is give them a shot of super glue and they are ready to rip again. I also bought the lead head jigs with the eyes in them when I ordered the Fish Traps. Just use a light rod and cast that baby out and reel it back in. Lot of fun when the sea bass are on top of the water. I think next time out I may take the injector needle with me and try and inject some scents into the bodies. WHOA BABY, that should rip the lips on a denizen of the deep. Stay safe out there.

Catalina anchovy and purple haze are two hot colors for albacore. A lot of guys use 1.5 oz lead heads and troll and/or cast them on the slide.
